So, I ordered the Wagyu Burger. Didn't know what to expect, since it came with just 2 buns, a thick paddy, and a sunny side up egg. But damn, was it good. Highly recommend. Juicy, flavorful, hardy, and delicious.

Roy’s at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego is the kind of place that makes you wonder, why isn’t this place packed every night?—but also secretly glad it isn’t, so you can keep it to yourself. Let’s start with the Coconut Milk Mojito—a creamy, dreamy, dairy-free delight. I ordered mine skinny (no simple syrup) because, you know, balance. It was perfection: fresh mint, tropical vibes, and just enough booze to remind me I was on vacation. Meanwhile, my 6’1” boyfriend was fully transported to island time after a classic margarita... or two. Strong, smooth, and just the right amount of “let’s book another night at the hotel” energy. For food, I worked my charm (read: big blue eyes and a smile) and convinced the waiter to hook us up with the Canoe for Four—an off-menu, aloha-infused platter of appetizers that will make you want to hula in your seat. Pro tip: order based on your group size unless you’re down to throw hands over the last piece of misoyaki butterfish. Where to sit? If you’re after happy hour deals, park yourself in the bar. If you prefer San Diego waterfront people-watching, snag a table by the waterline. Inside, the dining room is classy—wall of wine, open kitchen, all that jazz—but honestly, why would you sit indoors when you can have sea breezes and prime sunset views? Bottom line: Roy’s is a low-key waterfront gem, perfect for sipping, snacking, and pretending you live the kind of life where this is just your casual Tuesday night spot.

10/10 - This Place Knows How to Celebrate! (and Cook!) If I could give Roy's a rating higher than 10/10, I absolutely would! This was our first time dining here, and it also happened to be our anniversary. I'm so glad I noted the special occasion when making the reservation. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm anniversary wishes from the hostess, our server, and even a passing waitress. The service was impeccable – we were treated so well throughout the entire evening. But the real star of the show was the food. It was truly amazing! You can tell the cooks take incredible care with the taste and presentation of each dish. Every single bite was a little piece of heaven. And then there was the anniversary dessert... They called it a lava cake, but I'm pretty sure it was a brownie on crack! Absolutely decadent and delicious. The price point is definitely on the higher side, but honestly, it was worth every single penny. When the bill came, it felt more than reasonable for the experience we had. As we were leaving, a manager came out of the kitchen. While they didn't interact with us extensively, he stopped us to say thank you for coming, welcomed us back, wished us a good evening, and a safe drive home. That was a lovely touch. Our waitress was also incredibly friendly and sweet, making the evening even more special. I cannot recommend Roy's highly enough (I rushed home to share my experience with my adult children. They were mad there were no leftovers.). If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, especially for a special occasion, look no further! You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic food and drinks! The outdoor seating is a great option for enjoying your meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Roy‘s Restaurant is a nice restaurant right at the Waterfront area in San Diego. The Signature Drink „Roy’s Hawaiian Martini“ was delicious, the Coconut Rum adds an interesting taste to the Classic. Apart from that, the Filet Mignon was on point and even the side was fantastic. The view from the balcony is awesome, the service very good, both friendly and reasonably quick. The prices however are a little too high.

My family and I dined here on Christmas day and got to experience their Christmas menu. We were greeted by the hostess and were immediately seated (we had made a reservation online). We were seated where half our table could see the lovely view outside. Next time we may ask for the patio, because it looked beautiful out there. I ordered the Szechuan Spiced Pork Ribs for my appetizer. The ribs were insanely good and filling. I ordered the 14oz USDA Prime New York Strip as my entree. The steak was medium rare instead of rare, but other than that it tasted great. The mac n cheese that came with it was just okay. For dessert the whole table ordered the Macadamia Nut Bread Pudding which was very good. My sister ordered the Thai-Style Seafood Bouillabaisse as her entree and it was freaking amazing! I will order that next time we dine here. Our server was Kristen, who was awesome. She checked on us regularly and always made sure we were goodbon drinks. She was really helpful with menu recommendations. We parked in the hotel's parking lot and had our parking ticket validated at the restaurant.

Roy’s Restaurant is a lavish seafood fine dining place located by the seaside of the Marriott Hotel San Diego. The restaurant has outside and inside seating area. While the dining place outside is colder at night, they have ample fireplace which can be made hotter according to client’s request. The outside dining area is facing the sea, excellent for evening strolling and sunset viewing while enjoying dinner. We had prawn dumpling, crispy octopus and big eye tuna poke for appetisers, and I love the first 2 more than the last one. Then we tried lobster bisque, which I think the highlight of the meal. The bisque is creamy with a hint of spice, topped with crispy croutons and prawns. Next for the main course we ordered roasted macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi (a type of fish). Lobster udon and misoyaki butterfish. The mahi mahi fish is succulent, paired with potatoes and grilled asparagus. Lobster udon combined with capsicum and mushroom tastes great but it tastes a little salty. For dessert we ordered pineapple upside down cake and melting hot chocolate souffle. The melting chocolate was sumptuous, and the warm cake paired nicely with vanilla ice creams. I would highly recommend Roy’s restaurant for fine dining and corporate social gathering.

First time here. What a stunning location with amazing views. The food and service were fantastic. I had Poke. My wife had tacos. Excellent. And we had to have Mai Tais. Delicious. Can’t beat the view and the people watching is super entertaining ;-)
